K9 King dies on last day of duty before his retirement<\/p>\n

Today was supposed to be your last day on the job. You were scheduled to retire and spend your days with your partner, CPSO Sr. Cpl. Chris Duhon. Instead we are saying goodbye to you. You are the first K9 to die in the line of duty in Calcasieu Parish. You were voted 2018 runner up\/honorable mention for Patrol K9 for the \u201ccountry\u201d by the National Police Canine Association. You served this community and my brother honorably. You showed time and time again with your relentless spirit of determination that you were willing to protect my brother; making sure he came home each night to his family. You were the first most times to be sent into hostile situations, and like a fearless warrior, you did your job without a blink\u2014served and protected your partner and best friend. Thank you K-9 King for serving and protecting Chris in the lightest of day and the darkest of night. You were a friend, partner, and defender; willing to give your life for him. Together both of you were faithful and true to each other, to the last beat of your heart. On this day, my heart is heavy for my brother because he lost the sword by his side, his eyes, ears and nose of the night, partner and best friend, K9 King. Thank you!
