Allentown police mourn K-9 Harley, whose death Saturday ends a \u2018storied career\u2019<\/p>\n
Allentown police this weekend are mourning the death of K-9 officer Harley.
\nThe dog died Saturday morning after a brief fight with cancer, the department announced in a news release that expounded on his \u201cstoried career.\u201d A memorial service is pending. Harley started with the department in 2013. He and human partner Officer Andrew Fegley were known within the department for their role in numerous arrests and drug busts, and by the public for their hundreds of demonstrations for schools and community groups, the release said. \u201cOfficer Fegely and K9 Harley are known as being inseparable and dedicated public servants,\u201d Chief Glenn Granitz Jr. said. \u201cThe Allentown Police Department commends K9 Harley on a storied career and our thoughts remain with Officer Fegely and our brave men and women during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
