Retired Windsor Locks K9 Passes<\/p>\n
CPWDA is sad to announce the passing of Officer Joseph Malone’s retired K9 Jaxx of the Windsor Locks Police Department. Jaxx served from May 2012 to May 2014 before retiring because of a severe back injury suffered during his service. After his retirement, police credited Jaxx with apprehending two burglars in his final month of service. Jaxx\u2019s injury led to a diagnosis of a degenerative spine disease. Jaxx was diagnosed with lymphoma this January. Officer Joseph Malone \u201cexhausted all medicinal options and weeks of chemotherapy to no avail.. Jaxx spent his years with a loving family right to his last day when he was laid to rest at the Glastonbury (Veterinary) Hospital at the age of eight years old., Officer Malone and K9 Jaxx were CPWDA Lifetime members joining on 10\/17\/13.
