Beloved Police K-9 is Put Down <\/p>\n

Former Fond du Lac Police K9 Grendel was put down today. His long-time partner Officer Ryan Williams says it was a tough thing to do, but the right thing to do for the 12-year-old German Sheppard who had developed nerve problems in his back. Grendel and Williams recovered from critical wounds when they were shot during the same stand off incident in March of 2011 that claimed the life of Officer Craig Birkholz.
