A local police department is mourning the loss of a beloved police K-9. The Monroe Township Police Department with great sadness announced the passing of retired K-9 officer Kita. Kita served faithfully with her handler Captain Stephen Boyd for six years. She was the department’s first female K-9 and served as a patrol dog from 2009 to 2015. She spent her retirement days surrounded by love with Captain Boyd and his family.
