Galloway Police are mourning the loss K9 Zito<\/p>\n

The Galloway Police are mourning the loss of a longtime member of the police force, K-9 dog Zito. Zito was on patrol in Galloway for over ten years, before retiring in 2017. During that time, SFC D’Esposito and K-9 Zito conducted over 800 K9 deployments during their very decorated career together and received many awards. Zito participated in hundreds of K-9 demos for the schools and at community events showing off his skills and his impressive criminal apprehension work, bringing smiles to all who watched him perform. SFC D’Esposito and K-9 Zito formed an elite team and Zito will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with SFC D’Esposito and his family.Our condolences to Officer D’Esposito and all at the Galloway Police department on the loss of their friend and former co-worker Zito. He was appointed Training Director for the New London County Work Dog Association from 1985-1987.
