Unified police K9 Kuno killed by vehicle<\/p>\n
The Unified Police Department is mourning the death of one of its own. Police K9 Kuno was hit and killed by a vehicle, the department said. Police said early Monday morning the UPD handler was off-duty in his personal vehicle with his partner Kuno. The vehicle was a pickup truck with a shell, and Kuno was able to get out of the enclosed shell and was hit by another vehicle. Kuno died from his injuries. The driver of the vehicle was not identified. Kuno was a 16-month-old German Shepherd who was currently in training with his partner. \u201cOur hearts and prayers go out to our K9 handler who lost his dear friend and partner,\u201d said UPD in a statement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
