Sheriff K-9 Kash dies<\/p>\n

Trinity County Sheriff\u2019s Office K-9 \u201cKash\u201d died with handler Sgt. Scott Cavalli by his side yesterday after a brief bout with an infection. \u201cKash\u201d was taken to the Trinity Animal Hospital in Weaverville on Tuesday after the dog stopped eating and showed signs of illness. \u201cIt is with deep sorrow that the Trinity County Sheriff\u2019s Office announces the passing of K-9 \u2018Kash,\u2019\u201d the TCSO stated in a press release. Cavalli was assigned to \u201cKash\u201d in December of 2012, spending their career together policing the Hayfork area. \u201cThe two made an outstanding team,\u201d the TCSO stated. \u201cK-9 \u2018Kash\u2019 was utilized in hundreds of cases over his career to serve the people of Trinity County in both narcotics detection and suspect apprehension.\u201d \u201cKash\u201d reportedly helped seize of more than one pound of meth in his final week of service.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
