Retired Beloit Police Department K-9 Nick dies<\/p>\n
It is with a heavy heat that we inform you of the passing of K9 Nick who proudly served our community from 9\/21\/2006 until his retirement on 5\/12\/2013. K9 Nick worked with Officer (now Sergeant) Brian Daughtery during those years and lived with Brian and his family until his passing this morning. Nick worked hard to keep our community safe, and we were so proud to have him as a part of our team. Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences go to Sgt. Daughtery and his family as we know that the bond of a dog especially a K9 and its handler\/owner is second to none. We know Nick is with our other K9s including Mike and others and they are still watching over us. Rest In Peace Nick. Gone but not forgotten.
