Drumright Police Lose Beloved K-9<\/p>\n

It is with great sorrow that Drumright Police announces the passing of our K9, \u201cEdo\u201d \u201cEdo\u201d passed away on 2-11-18 from natural causes. Born on 1-15-2005, \u201cEdo\u201d began his career with handler Brian Gooch in 2007. The team came to Drumright Police in 2009 and remained until his retirement in 2015. \u201cEdo\u201d obtained his State Certification 9 times and was an invaluable member of our team. \u201cEdo\u201d had more drug arrests and apprehensions accredited to him than any other K9 for Drumright Police. \u201cEdo\u201d also loved his visits to the local schools and daycares to let the children see and pet him. The bond between a handler and their K9 is something you can only describe if you have lived it, and as a handler myself, I can say that the bond between Gooch and \u201cEdo\u201d was unbreakable. \u201cEdo\u201d was fully devoted day and night, on duty and off. \u201cEdo\u201d was awarded a, well deserved, Oklahoma State Legislature citation for his service in 2015, and finished out his retirement in the loving care of his handler. \u201cEdo\u201d served with honor and courage and will be greatly missed by our family. Our hearts go out to his handler Gooch and his family for their loss. \u201cEdo\u201d was not only an Officer, but a member of their family. RIP K9 \u201cEdo\u201d. You have served your community well. We are honored to have served with you and to call you our own. We will take it from here.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
