Vancouver police dog Rebel dies suddenly<\/p>\n
Vancouver police are mourning one of their own after a canine officer died suddenly. Police tweeted about the sudden passing of Rebel, a German Shepherd who they described as a \u201cwarrior, friend and guardian of the night.\u201d Rebel gained some fame last year when he took down a thief who had stolen a child\u2019s piggy bank. He was also \u2018Mr. September\u2019 in this year\u2019s police dog calendar.\u201cSo, again, Rebel [is] not only using his modeling career to help with the calendar in support of the BC Children\u2019s Hospital Foundation, but helping children of crimes as well,\u201d Sgt.
