CPWDA is sad to announce the passing of K9 Zeus who was handled by Officer Brian Ziolkovski of the Old Saybrook Police Department. Officer\u2019s saluted Zeus on his way to be put down, then a sad good bye was given to K9 Zeus surrounded by his family members. K9 Zeus was put to sleep just 6 days shy of his ninth birthday at Olsen Essex Veterinarian Hospital at approximately 10:30 this morning. After discovering Zeus had terminal cancer, Officer Ziolkovski made the hard, painful but loving decision to end his loyal partner’s suffering. Police from area agencies in attendance to bid farewell were CPWDA President Danny Lane from Waterford P.D., CPWDA Treasurer James Cortina, Madison P.D., Plainfield P.D., East Lyme P.D., Connecticut Department of Corrections and Connecticut State Police. Officer Ziolkovski and K9 Zeus were members of the CPWDA joining on 3\/25\/12 until Zeus\u2019s passing.
