Beloved Alameda police K-9 \u2018Argo\u2019 passes away<\/p>\n
A beloved police dog that served with the Alameda Police Department for five years has passed away, according to a post from the department. \u201cArgo\u201d served the Alameda community from 2014 until 2019 until his retirement, Alameda PD said.During his years of service, police said Argo was involved in numerous community events, operations and narcotic detections along with his handler, Officer Dubon. Argo also won numerous awards for his tracking skills.Additionally, Argo played a \u201csignificant role\u201d in resolving numerous cases in Alameda, police said.Following his retirement, Argo enjoyed his days with his handlers\u2019 family, which were \u201cfilled with love, many exciting jumps into pools, and a relaxing life as a beloved companion,\u201d police said.\u201cWe are forever grateful for K-9 Argo\u2019s service and the bond he shared with our department and the community,\u201d police said. \u201cK-9 Argo will always be in our hearts and his legacy will never be forgotten.\u201dArgo passed away from an incurable genetic condition, police said. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
