Franklin County Sheriff\u2019s Office mourns loss of K-9 Will<\/p>\n
The Franklin County Sheriff\u2019s Office is mourning the loss of one of its retired K-9s.K-9 Will passed away recently after falling ill, according to the sheriff\u2019s office. He was laid to rest on Wednesday evening.Will was a member of the sheriff\u2019s office for more than eight years and worked alongside his partner, Sgt. Jeff Valentine. The K-9 was both a patrol dog and he helped detect narcotics.During his time on duty, he helped track, in narcotics detection and in article and building searches.The sheriff\u2019s office said he was also featured on season three of \u201cLive PD.\u201d\u201cK-9 Will was not just a working dog \u2014 he was a trusted partner, a loyal companion and a hero. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office wrote in a release. \u201cRest easy, K-9 Will.
