IMPD announces retired K-9 officer has died<\/p>\n

A retired IMPD K-9 officer has died.IMPD announced Sunday, Dec. 15 that retired K-9 officer Jett passed away Friday, Dec. 13. Jett served with IMPD from October 2014 to October 2023. He was paired with IMPD Det. Jim Albin and later IMPD Det. Allen Englert.Jett was a Dutch Shepherd who was born in Mexico in December 2012. He was trained to locate even the smallest traces of accelerants. IMPD said throughout his career, Jett worked over 400 fire scenes in Marion County and throughout central Indiana.
