Orrville Police Department\u2019s 1st K-9, Freddie, dies <\/p>\n
The Orrville Police Department is \u201cheartbroken\u201d to share that retired K-9 Freddie died. OPD said his health had been declining, and he crossed the Rainbow Bridge the afternoon of Sept. 13.K-9 Freddie became the Orrville Police Department\u2019s first canine on Dec. 12, 2012, \u201cand we could not have asked for a better K-9 to have started our program with,\u201d OPD stated. His four paws enforced the laws alongside his handler, Ofc. Smith, and ensured the K-9 program thrived, according to OPD. \u201cThey were an excellent team!\u201d said OPD.OPD stated K-9 Freddie \u201cenjoyed a wonderful life\u201d as he spent his golden years of retirement with Ofc.
