Mentor Police Department K-9 suddenly passes away<\/p>\n

The Mentor Police Department has announced the passing of a K-9 officer after a sudden medical emergency. According to a press release from the Mentor Police Department, K-9 Officer Achilles died on August 18. Achilles served with the Mentor Police Department since April of 2019 alongside his partner, Patrolman Terry Wurgler.\u201cAchilles\u2019 impact on the department and community will not be forgotten,\u201d the release said. \u201cOur thoughts and prayers are with Officer Wurgler and his family during this difficult time.\u201dThe release said Achilles served with courage and dedication. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
