Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office police dog dies from unexpected illness<\/p>\n

The Multnomah County Sheriff\u2019s Office is mourning the loss of a four-legged colleague after a rapid, unexpected illness.Police Dog Deputy Rudy got sick on Friday, June 14, from a rare and unpreventable condition. Despite emergency treatment, and his characteristic determination, Rudy died early Saturday morning, June 15, with his devoted handler by his side.Rudy was a 4-year-old German shepherd\/Belgian Malinois mixed breed, born on Sep. 11 2019. He was an ace tracker, dealing with some of the most challenging conditions.
