\nHandler – Officer Matt Lima<\/p>\n
CPWDA is sad to announce the passing of retired K9 Judge who was partnered with Detective Matt Lima of the Milford Police Department. In 2006 Officer Lima and K9 Judge were the winners of the prestigious Daniel Wasson Memorial Canine Award and were also the 1st Runner- Up of the award in 2008. Officer Lima began his Law Enforcement career in 1998 with the City of Milford Police Department. In 2004 he was selected to be a member of the departments regional Special Response Team which covers four cities. His K-9 career began in 2005 upon graduating from the 115th Connecticut State Police Patrol Dog Training Troop with his partner \u201cJudge\u201d. In 2007 the team graduated from the 126th Connecticut State Police Narcotics Dog Training Troop. Officer Lima had attended numerous K-9 courses in the areas of Patrol Dog Training, Narcotics Detection, and SWAT Dog Training. In addition, the duo had competed in several state and national police K-9 team competitions throughout the country. Officer Lima served as the Trustee on the Executive Board of the United States Police Canine Association, Region 7. Officer Lima was elected C.P.W.D.A. Vice-President of Western Region in 2013 and had been a member of C.P.W.D.A. since 2005.
