It is with deep regret that the New York State Police announces the death of K9 Lynde (retired).K9 \u201cLynde\u201d passed away on December 1, 2022, at the age of 11. K9 Lynde began training with her handler, Trooper Kevin P. Conners, Troop D Bloodhound Unit, in March 2012.K9 Lynde was a rescue from the Ontario County Humane Society Happy Tails Animal Shelter. She served with the State Police from May 2, 2014, until her retirement on February 2, 2016. K9 Lynde was named after Trooper Thomas C. Lynes who died in the line of duty as a result of a traffic accident on June 3, 1935.In 2015 she was recognized by the National Police Bloodhound Association and received their \u201cLifesaving Award\u201d for locating a missing vulnerable adult in Jefferson County.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
