Handler – Sgt. Michael “Mickey” Connor<\/span><\/p>\n Sergeant Michael \u201cMickey\u201d Connor unfortunately had to make the toughest decision that any K9 handler will ever have to make. K9 Grimm has been ill for the past several days. When tests were conducted by Grimm\u2019s veterinarian, they revealed that he has a very aggressive form of lung cancer, which has already metastasized to his lymph nodes. On recommendation of his veterinarian, Grimm will be crossing the rainbow bridge this Wednesday. Sergeant Connor and Grimm have been an exceptional team, serving the Town of Andover for ten years. This dynamic duo has done almost everything, and did it with great success! They were at the Boston Marathon Bombing, the Watertown Standoff, they have competed in numerous USPCA dog trials, located missing people, apprehended criminals, and found over a hundred pounds of drugs over their career together. Mickey and Grimm also enjoyed educating the public, teaching about drugs and police work to the incoming freshmen of AHS every year since partnering up. However, Mickey and Grimm were probably most famous for being the stars of, \u201cWhere\u2019s Grimm Wednesday\u201d. On Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at approximately 10:30am-10:45am Grimm will take his last ride from the Andover Police Station heading through the downtown area. If you would like to wave or hold a sign of support, Mickey and Grimm will head RIGHT on Central Street, LEFT on School Street, and make a return LEFT onto Main Street traveling north through downtown and back by the police station. This will be a tough time for Sergeant Connor and his family as this is the second police K9 they have lost, Niko and Grimm were both loved by the Connor family and the APD.
