End of Watch for South Dakota Police Service Dog<\/strong><\/p>\n

The South Dakota Highway Patrol announced the loss of one of their own. Police Service Dog, Brix, was laid to rest earlier this week following health issues. Brix began his career with the South Dakota Highway Patrol in 2009 and was trained in the detection of illegal drugs. He worked mainly in the Belle Fourche area with his partner. The patrol described Brix as an outstanding narcotics detection dog and one giant teddy bear. He retired in 2019.
