Retired Cabell County K-9 A-Tak passes away<\/strong><\/p>\n

For nearly a decade, K-9 A-Tak helped keep residents of Cabell County safe. The sheriff\u2019s office announced in a Facebook post Thursday that this dedicated public servant has passed away. \u201cWe are very sad to announce the passing of retired K-9 Deputy A-Tak,\u201d the post said.. \u201cA-Tak worked diligently on patrol with his partner and handler, Sgt. Barry Lewis, for many years. He crossed the rainbow bridge earlier this evening. He was a good boy and he will be missed immensely.\u201d The sheriff\u2019s office said the dog became a member of the K-9 unit in 2009 and was there until retiring in 2018.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
