Prince George P.D. K9 \u201cLoki\u201d Passes Away<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Prince George\u2019s County Police Department\u2019s Special Operations Division regrets to inform you of the untimely passing of active duty K9 Loki. Loki was the faithful partner of Corporal Joe Ward. <\/span>Loki served as a patrol and drug detection dog from 2013 until his death on Friday, August 13th. Throughout his career, Loki successfully located several dangerous suspects and recovered\u00a0 large amounts of narcotics. Loki provided patrol assistance to FedEx Field, National Harbor and other events throughout the County. At the time of his death, Loki was 9 1\/2 years old.<\/span><\/p>\n

Board of Directors, he helped to draft Connecticut Statute 53-247(e) \\\"Intentional Injury or Killing of Police K-9\\\" which was passed by the Senate in 1993 and also assisted in implementing the prestigious Daniel Wasson Memorial K-9 Award in 1992. In 1993 he helped coordinate the North American Police Work Dog Association Nationals in New London, Connecticut. He was appointed Training Director for the New London County Work Dog Association from 1985-1987.
