Veteran Cass Co. police dog passes away<\/p>\n
The Cass County Sheriff\u2019s Office is grieving the loss of Deputy Canine Ed. The four-legged crime fighter was an active member of the Cass County Sheriff\u2019s Office for 13 years, starting his career in April of 2008. Ed assisted in many narcotic related cases removing drug traffickers from our region and assisted on multiple searches for wanted individuals or missing persons, all in an effort to keep our community safe. Deputy Dan Hermann was Ed\u2019s only handler throughout Ed\u2019s career. Ed had a tremendous drive and displayed that each and every day Deputy Hermann and he went out the door to work. In Ed\u2019s free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, going on family trips and jumping in the lake to cool off in the heat of the summer. This week, we would like to honor Deputy K-9 Ed\u2019s commitment to this office, this community and the family he loved so dearly. The Cass County Sheriff\u2019s Office wishes to offer our condolences to the entire Hermann family for their dedication and care for Ed over the years.
