On Wednesday, Pekin police reported that a very important member of the department\u2019s family had died. K9 Ahen died on May 24, surrounded by his family and Pekin Animal Hospital staff. Police said in a press release. Opium was selected from Vohne Liche Kennels in January 2012. Lieutenant Jones and K9 Opium worked as a team until Opium retired in May 2019.
