WOOD COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT RETIRED K9 TORO PASSES AWAY<\/p>\n

Wood County Sheriff\u2019s Department announced via social media that retired K9 Toro has passed away. \u201cIt\u2019s with a heavy heart we announce the passing of K9 Toro. He was Sheriff\u2019s Department\u2019s 4th police dog, and recently was retired,\u201d the department said in a statement. Deputy James Pidgeon was Toro\u2019s handler. Pidgeon and his family were taking care of Toro during his retirement years. \u201cWe want to thank James for his dedication to the K9 Unit. Toro just wasn\u2019t his pet, he was James\u2019s partner for many years,\u201d the statement said. \u201cWe grieve with the Pidgeon family as they go through this difficult time. Rest in peace Toro. We thank you for your service to the citizens of Wood County.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
