Handler – Officer Ron Catlin<\/p>\n

Retired Dallas Police Officer Ron Catlin has just experienced one of the hardest times of his life: saying goodbye to his beloved K9 partner, Barna. Sadly, 11-year-old Barna was recently euthanized after suffering from kidney failure. Test results showed blood in her stomach from the liver, which was most likely cancer. Catlin and Barna had just retired together within the last year. Barna served the TSA and Dallas Police Department for ten years as an explosive detective canine. She has had an extremely successful career with a long list of accomplishments. She worked for every living President, including Bush Sr., Dalai Lama, Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks, Super Bowl events in Dallas, TX\/OU games, Final 4 basketball and the first College Football Championship. Catlin says she also responded to the downtown Dallas shooting on July 7, 2016, with the entire team for a long night of searching. During Barna\u2019s retirement, Catlin says Barna loved going for walks and meeting new people. Catlin even removed the \u201cNOT\u201d in the \u201cDO NOT PET\u201d patch from her police vest, so that people would know to pet her during their walks.
\nCatlin took to Facebook to share Barna\u2019s story, and within hours, the post went viral with more than 14k likes and thousands of people from all over the world mourning her loss with him. \u201cI just wanted to take her home and back to work just one more time,\u201d Catlin wrote on Facebook. \u201cBarna will be missed but never forgotten.
