It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of retired K-9 Kondor. Kondor served our Community and Department for nearly 9 years, alongside his handler, Corporal Boyington, before retiring on November 10, 2020. Corporal Boyington and his family, adopted Kondor and he truly became a member of their family.
\nLast night Kondor fell very ill, and was rushed the emergency veterinarian. His sendoff was very heartwarming, as numerous K-9 handlers and officers from throughout the county stood at attention as Kondor entered the vet hospital for the last time. Orange County is quite a unique place to work and live, and it is clear when you see everyone come together like this. Corporal Boyington was by Kondor\u2019s side as his suffering ended. Please keep Corporal Boyington and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
