K9 Titan passed away on June 19, 2016 from complications from gastric dilatation volvulus surgery.
Titan served with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office since 2014. He was born in Herzebrock-Clarholz, Germany on September 30th, 2011. Most recently, Titan help gather evidence and apprehend suspects involved in the May 6th, 2015 shooting incident involving Deputy Liberatore. During the incident suspects repeatedly shot at Deputy Liberatore and his patrol car after refusing to pull over for a traffic stop. “As a K9 handler I always knew this day would come, but it still did not make it any easier,” said Titan’s handler Deputy Dale BeCraft. “He is more than a dog, he is part of our family.” A memorial service will be held for Titan at the Sheriff’s Office at 120 Commerce Street on Friday, June 24th at 2:00pm.
