K9 Diesel Died

On the evening of February 7, 2019, Senior Police Officer Jeffrey Michael had to allow his retired partner to cross the rainbow bridge. K9 Diesel and Officer Michael rode together from 2011 to 2016, massing 157 captures and numerous evidence finds. He retired in 2016 and has since been living the high life as a family pet. K9 Diesel had experienced increasing pain that had become resistant to medications. In the week before his death his pain was severe and debilitating, to the point where his Vet had no options left. Officer Michael still works in our Canine Detail, and I have had many opportunities to care for both his active and retired partners in the kennel. K9 Diesel will be greatly missed.
