Foxborough mourning death of K9 Drax
The Foxborough Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its officers, K9 Drax, the department said Monday. Recently retired Drax, a 3-year-old German/Dutch shepherd mix, died Friday at Foxborough Animal Hospital after being diagnosed with a brain tumor, the department said. “(Drax) was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor which he courageously fought over the last few weeks,” police posted on Facebook. “It is with great sadness that we announce Drax’s valiant battle is over.” Members of the Foxborough police and Foxborough fire departments saluted Drax along Mechanic Street on Friday as K9 Officer Kurt Pollister took him on their final ride together. “Rest easy, Drax. Thank you for your dedicated service. We have the watch from here,” police posted.
